FAQ's

Can someone else pick up my packet?

Yes. Just make sure they have a copy of your ID – printed or a picture on your phone.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, but only for the 5K Race and you must start at the back of the pack.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are allowed for the 5K Dog Jog only.

Is the course hilly?

The 5K & 10K are flat & fast around the boulevards of the business park near KEVA, and include paved trail of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy bike path & trail. The half marathon course has a few hills but is mainly flat and scenic.

What if there is bad weather?

The race will go on rain or shine. However, if there is inclement weather in the area, Haunted Hustle implements the 30/30 rule. If we hear thunder within 30 seconds after lightning, then the race will be delayed 30 minutes. Due to our agreement with the local municipalities, the course cut-off will need to remain the same as scheduled.

What is the minimum age to participate?

This is at the discretion of the parent. Any participant under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the participant wavier. The kids Race is intended for participants 5-10.

What is the course time limit?

The Half Marathon course is open for 3 hours, the 10K is 1.5 hours, the 5K courses close with the 10K and the Kid’s Run course is 25 minutes.

What if I am not going to finish before the course closes?

If you are not going to finish within that time limit, you are absolutely welcome to finish the race, we will do our best to help ensure you have an enjoyable finish experience. Just know that it may not be supported by volunteers or police. You may be asked to move to the sidewalk.

Is there medical support on the course?

Yes! We have Middleton EMS that will be stationed at the finish line. We also have several City of Middleton police stationed at key intersections. All of our aid stations will be equipped with basic first aid kits. If you need immediate medical attention, alert the nearest volunteer and they will call for help.

What is provided at the Aid Stations?

Water and Sports Drink. Plus cheers from the most amazing volunteers.

Are headphones allowed?

Yes. You can run with headphones, but you are responsible for knowing the course and being able to listen to volunteers.

Do I get a finisher medal?

All finishers of all distances (yes, 5K!) will receive a finisher medal. Yes, ALL of you, even the kiddos.

Can I get a refund if I can't race?

Refunds are not offered under any circumstances.

Can I change my registration?

We can change your registration for you at the packet pick-up. Just stop by the Information Booth & make sure you start at the correct start time. There are no refunds for downgrading but there is a fee to upgrade to a longer distance.

What is included with my registration?

All registered runners receive a racer bib & timing chip, an official race shirt, finisher medal (after finish), and a post-race beverage. There is also free, live music at the Finish Line Festival.

What charity does this event support?

The Haunted Hustle is proud to support Run Strong Madison as our official race charity partner. We also support and pay other local charities.
